Have a Great Week!

Did you have a lovely weekend? I sure did. With Veteran’s Day off, an unexpected 3 day weekend ended up being exactly what was needed! Overall - it was perfect.

Weekend Recap:

Friday I ended up booking a last minute hair appointment (I see Stella at Peter’s Place for an easy gloss), which obviously meant I couldn’t waste a good blow out. We’re both keeping dining out to a minimum with our upcoming wedding so we agreed to a drink & an app. We went here to get an experience that was wonderfully reminiscent of New York and is a great stop for something slightly elevated, but still casual enough. After that we stayed in and watched Something’s Gotta Give (I mean loved it is an understatement).

Saturday Dress shopping was surprisingly easy! My Mom found her dress for my wedding locally at this adorable boutique Nina Raynor in Delray Beach. It was so tough to figure out where to go that I’m going to definitely list where we went. The cool thing about Nina Raynor is that once you buy a gown, they don’t sell it again. This ensures that you don’t show up to an event (gala / wedding) in the same outfit as someone else. After spending a small fortune, this is absolutely the advantage of shopping local.

On Sunday’s Matthew and I have weekly (get shit done) meetings where we go through mail & most recently we do our wedding budget / planning. Luckily we went through final design selections last week and now we’re moving on to the flow & feel of the wedding. We planned our ceremony & what we want it to feel like - it’s so soon! We are not having a religious ceremony so there is something amazing about getting to choose every detail. I love what we came up with.

Have a Great Week…

Can you believe we’re just over a week away from Thanksgiving? Really that’s just a countdown to putting up a Christmas tree. I love a real tree, but I really want a second one for the other living room.

Before the holiday’s I’m focused on keeping it tight…Heading to Montana Method in a few to get a good sweat in & then staying on plan with my health coach to make sure I’m on target for the wedding! I can’t recommend her enough - she’s no nonsense in the best way!

Spoonful of… Vitamins

The pandemic has us all a bit loco. Never did I think I would see the day when wearing masks is en vogue & shaking hands is taboo. That said, here we are.

The one benefit of all this social distancing is having the opportunity to kick your health & immune system into high gear. I’ve been working closely with my plant based acupuncturist Dr. Crista who has made me a believer in Eastern Medicine & have provided a concoction of vitamins and supplements to really things fired up.

One of my favorite things she’s introduced me too are supplements that help to combat inflammation, curb hunger, and just overall make you feel energized. The hardest part is remembering to take them.

Life hack - store vitamins next to the coffee. If you have a chance to make a coffee, you can easily take the vitamins also!

Here’s what I keep top shelf:

Nutrition: Eat Your Greens At Bonberi Bodega

I am a cheeseburger & french fries kind of girl. And I don’t mean to say that sometimes I can eat half of a cheeseburger, I mean I really enjoy eating meat and despite my best efforts to change my diet I was not doing so hot.

Insert Bonberi Bodega - a plant based bodega founded by Nicole Bonberi that makes eating plant based whole foods, well easy & taste really freaking awesome. I’m not one to dish out undeserved compliments, so I’m telling you everything I ate was great!

It is certainly not your standard vegan stop. The store has an incredibly airy feel about it. When you walk in there is the checkout counter to the left, and to the right you have a few window seats to eat in the bodega, a rustic coffee table with a few products perfectly displayed. Against the side wall a few more house goods & non perishables are perfectly stocked and look very healthy. Transparently I couldn’t name a single product on that table or those shelves. Ravenous as ever, I breezed by the front table and shelves to head straight to the fridge that houses all of the grab & go meals that your taste buds will be v happy you tried.

There was a robust selection of foods from their menu available in the fridge. There were also a few more that were on the menu, but they didn’t have which was a bit of a bummer. Good news is I found 3 salads that were absolutely delicious, green juices that didn’t want to make me plug my nose, a dressing that is now in my fridge at home, and this cashew based schmear that works on everything from breads to chips.

The portions are big and the food really does taste phenomenal. The price is comparable to a sweet green, but the quality seems much higher. Overall, great spot that can help you eat clean even when you are strapped for time. The only reason this spot isn’t a straight up 10 is they don’t have a phone & when I had returned 10 minutes before their listed closing time they had a sign on the door that they were closed for a private event.

Weekend Rating: 8.5/10
